Hoardings
Hoardings are one of the
leading media for outdoor advertising. Used on construction
sites, new building developments or temporary fencing
in city centres and roadsides, hoardings are large billboards
over a few metres long.
Advertising hoardings are usually
subject to planning permission or consent. Public regulation
acts state that in order to get permission and make
them safe for public places, hoardings must have the
following requirements:
- Be at least 2.5m high
- Be weather resistant and in particular withstand winds
- Have lighting if the street lighting where the hoarding
is located has not got adequate illumination
- Be smooth and not contain any protruding areas
London Displays will help you
create high impact hoardings, either as short term structures
or longer term ones. Made of a series of panels overprinted
digitally from any artwork, the materials used include
corex, foamex or aluminium boards (also known as reybond).
Previous hoardings done by London Displays include the
BFI (British Film Institute), the Roundhouse and Museum
of London.
